Barney Tracy started in the insurance industry in 1974 as a group representative, moving to group sales management six years later. This time was spent mainly on life and health groups, with limited exposure to pensions and retirement plans. Reversing that he spent from 1984 to 1989 involved in management of pension and retirement savings plans with a large life insurance company.
A return to the field in 1990 as a group representative was made complete when he became an independent broker in 1995.
Barney attained the Fellow of the Life Management Institute (FLMI) in 1989 and in 2000 he completed the course of study for the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation.
Barney has been married to Anne since 1970, and they have three children. The family has lived in Waterloo since 1986. Barney's spare time has been spent involved in sports as a volunteer with the local swim club, regional administration and sitting on the board of directors of Swim Ontario. He also chaired the K-W Sports Council for its first five years.
